The DNC Euphoria Wave Strategy
A new candidate to replace the doddering Biden will create an emotional wave that could score the Ds a big win in November.
Underthrow readers know I’m not fond of politics. Representative democracy is an absurd system. I have dedicated this publication to underthrowing that system and the sociopaths who perpetuate it. Otherwise, I could write a thick volume called
Why Our System of Government is Effing Absurd.
Elections are people thronging to do something irrational. It’s like playing Lotto: odds are your vote doesn’t affect the outcome. At least if your scratch ticket wins, you can afford a house in Palm Beach. Yet when elections are close, the winner-takes-all outcome is not for the tie-breaking voter. Anyway, most people enter the electoral prayer booth for the feels—not because they possess critical knowledge, an informed opinion, or good reasons to expect hope and change.
It’s not just that the outcome is determined by an absurd process, namely how many sheep on team Red or Blue can be herded to the polls on a Tuesday. It’s also that—assuming a normal IQ distribution among voters—half are less intelligent than the mean. But even the so-called intelligent voters rationalize their emotional decisions post hoc. So be honest: No matter who wins, this ritual is set up to let millions of people you wouldn’t trust to feed your cat decide who rules you. Almost no one considers their decisions beforehand, but those who do are eventually disappointed no matter the outcome.
Now, let’s talk about emotion.
Euphoria Waves
The following represents a basic pattern of positive emotional experiences through time. Elections turn on this pattern.
Call it a “euphoria wave.”
If the Democrats are smart, they will—in essence—use the foregoing to throw a Hail Mary pass to win in the game's final minutes. And the Democrats are smart. They are also willing to be underhanded.
Exitus acta probat.
The Democratic Convention might have been a good time for Biden to announce that he is stepping down due to x—whatever lets him save face and play the role of statesman sage. But after the assassination attempt, calls for Biden to step down are swelling again to a fever pitch. Why? The media know that a euphoria wave was building for Donald Trump, and they are eager for the emotional valence around the failed assassination attempt to peter out. In other words, they’re not waiting for the Deplorables to settle down. They want to interrupt surfacing evidence and deepening questions around the rally shooter(s).
They need Biden out.
Knives Out
So, the Democrats’ soft coup resumes. The DNC doesn’t want too much of its dirty laundry aired, but Biden is frail now, apparently down with COVID. Recently, though Biden might only have been at half of his former cognitive capacity, he seemed at 99 percent ego and self-delusion. But the extended Democratic power structure hates Trump and loves power. That was enough to bring the knives out against a doddering Caesar whose Democratic primary win was a fraud anyway. The Party is firmly in control.
(Ask RFK, Jr., Marianne Williamson, and Bernie Sanders how this works.)
Euphoria Candidate
If the Democrats use the Euphoria Wave strategy, they will have to announce a candidate likely to put Team Blue into a frenzy. Think about the doe-eyed zombies who voted for Hope and Change in 2008. Barack Obama, whatever his shortcomings, still bathes in that residue. And so does his beloved wife, Michelle. On the other hand, putting forth a euphoria candidate like Michelle Obama or Oprah Winfrey would require reneging on a deal to make Kamala Harris Joe Biden’s successor. Rep. Jim Clyborne (SC) is “Ridin’ with Biden” for now, but he is still drumming his fingers, waiting for that promised torch-passing.
But neither Harris nor Biden is a euphoria candidate.
Dark Irony
There is a dark irony here. If Biden’s continued justifications for staying in the race prevent the DNC from installing their euphoria candidate, there will be just as many Ds praying for Biden’s demise as have been praying for Trump’s. But if they can dislodge doddering Joe by the convention, the coronation could cause a euphoria tsunami that would crash sometime after November 5th, washing away the many reasons the Democrats deserve to lose this time.
As details of the assassination attempt continue to emerge, investigation obsession is unlikely to abate. This changes the nature and duration of the euphoria wave around Trump, which will clash with any big reveal the Democrats have in store a month from today. The latest Washington gossip says Biden could step down this weekend.
So many things that I'd like to say about the deficiencies on both sides, given the times that we are now in. Having the dems prevail in November would be an utter catastrophe for the country, and probably signal to the red states that it is now finally time to break-up. Conversely, that may be what the blue states are planning if the Rs prevail. Neither side has a strong understanding of the world that we truly live in, and neither side is willing to accept defeat. I'm really having a hard time seeing how this all pans out in the absence of a third way to move forward where neither side has complete control, and real standards are put in place to curb spending and reduce regulatory bloat.
The voting members of the US Congress and the State Legislatures do not have enough time to read, comprehend or debate any of the laws they vote on. They vote 100 times a day, every five minutes, while in session.
Approximate absolute facts:
Every day that the Congress and Legislatures are in session 100 new bills are introduced and distributed.
The representatives are given two weeks to review the bills before they are brought up for The Vote.
Two weeks into the session they begin voting on the Laws that were previously introduced, while newer laws are introduced.
Many of these bills are in excess of two thousand pages.
The arithmetic demonstrates that the elected representative does not have the time to even read the name of the Law much less the content of it.
Since the Representatives cannot evaluate 200 thousand pages of law speak per day, they vote the way their Party advisors tell them to vote.
