Yup. Thanks Max. Yup and yup.

I would add...Some of my freedom-loving friends, and those of an idealistic bent who favor Socialist solutions, are waiting for the Messiah - one person (as you described), one event, one manifesto - that will unite us all in common purpose overnight and bring us to the Promised Land. Instead, I would suggest that each of us can start today rather than wait for the external savior.

Two things...

1. Hone our own skills for what is needed to live in a freer society - better at entrepreneurship (building and sustaining organizations in the private (business) and nonprofit (charitable) sectors of the market), negotiation, conflict management, project management, marketing, et al.

2. Build our working networks - exchanging information, ideas, products and services in the market - for mutual benefit. Earning trust and respect from friends, family, neighbors, and the people we deal with online and in person. Which means engaging with people with the old-fashioned rituals of respect regardless of where you live. A friendly greeting, an offer to hold a door open or carry a package to a car. Sharing produce from an abundant garden. Finding commonality before and instead of arguing over a headline. Listening.

You don't have to wait until you get the notice that Galt's Gulch is accepting reservations.
