Mad Max, we have her book "The Sky Detective".

Max, this was beautifully written. I initially thought Azadeh was a real woman because of the photo and the Persian letter at the end. It might help readers if you noted somewhere that she’s a fictional composite drawn from real experiences.

Good point, John. Will do.

I believe it is possible to be simultaneously frustrated that there is yet another war and also hopeful that this may mean actual liberation for Persians from what has been a truly oppressive and violent regime.

It seems like that nuanced view places me in a minority among libertarians, however.

Probably. But I feel the same. I've been contemplating a piece about it, but most readers want full-throated conviction, not a reflection on how intractable some issues are. Nobody cares about mixed feelings.

Seemingly, and sadly, yes.

I am even seeing some condemnations based on the complaint that Iran is a "sovereign nation." That seems an odd place for self-proclaimed anarchists to plant a flag.

I can understand why you might be hesitant to write a piece about it. If you were to decide to take that bullet, I'm sure the piece would be excellent.

I’d love to read your thoughts about it. So if you cook something up (no pun) I’ll be l over it.

I'll have to decide whether I want that stress in my life 🤣🤣
