This is funny timing as most of the small business world is waking up to the fact that Intuit and it's monopoly on the bookkeeping software has now raised it's prices and hold business' data hostage. We, in our business have skirted around this for now, as we did not sign up for the subscription models a few years ago because I could see what was coming there, but others now are totally screwed and paying 3x as much. It's pure extortion, at a time when small business is feeling the squeeze from so many directions. So yes hopefully "over time" innovation may help us but it's not on the close horizon.
