Excellent parable.

By the way, George III would not have struggled to imagine a country without a king. People alive in his lifetime had witnessed England without a King. The model of limited kingship that emerged after this period was a positive influence on the design for the chief executive of the United States.

"Zoom out from the absurd people vying to rule us and realize that a system of simple people vying to rule a complex society is itself absurd."

Yep.

Act collectively to protect individuals.

Act individually to destroy individuals.

Ubuntu in the White House feels a long way off.

"Act individually to destroy individuals."

Could you say more, please? I don't understand. Are you saying that humans are innately "bad" and need the "group" to protect us from ourselves? Excuse my confusion.

There is a solution on the horizon. It has been part of human enterprise since the beginning of existence; Cooperation. All species in nature cooperate to survive. This begs the question, "Why have we built our economic system around competition?"

Having only briefly reviewed Yaneer Bar-Yam manifesto, he's scratching at the idea of organized cooperation without mentioning the word once. In fact, his term, "Teams" is a tribute to the competitive structure.

Constitutional Cooperation is the ability to cooperate in small local groups (3 or more) while having full access to and benefit of a interconnected global philosophy, polity, and infrastructure that transcends the nation state complex.

The Global Cooperation Corps (GCC) & Hyperlogos have built a prototype system that will function on the Holochain (holochain.org) peer-to-peer network. The Web3 distributed computing system allows users to control and own their own data locally while being able to connect globally.

We would love to anyone that sees this to join our weekly live online presentation. If interested email me at modonjon@gmail.com. Enjoy, DonJon.

PS: Just the effort I had to go through to post this comment is an example forced coercion of the competitive system. In Constitutional Cooperation the individual sets the rules for connection and the enterprise accepts them. Total security with no ability to hack or abuse personal information. The Future of computing is NOW!

Yes, indeed. All great points. (Note also that this is the 2nd time today that I've had someone mention the Convention of States. It must be a sign.)
